We believe that great food and wine is the best way to enjoy time with family and friends. We strive to create the perfect environment by producing premium artisan wines and high-quality estate grown produce, to be enjoyed in an idyllic setting.

del Rios is a family owned, vineyard, winery, restaurant, and cellar door established in 1996 on the slopes of an extinct volcano, Mt Anakie, driven by the family’s passion for great food and wine.

Gus and Esther del Rio, together with their 3 sons Andres, Joshua and Marcus purchased the property in 1994 and the first vines were planted in 1996.

Over the next 26 years, del Rios has blended traditional influences with contemporary techniques to develop a vineyard and winery, where owner and winemaker Gus del Rio, produces a range of low-yield, beautifully crafted wines. The wines are elegant, and complex, reflecting the true varietal character of the Mt Anakie site, in the Moorabool Valley region.

Gus is a self-taught winemaker, who's journey has been driven by passion. Over the years he has employed a number of wine makers who have been supportive of this process, however Gus has a strong belief that the best way to learn something is by doing it.

The 2017 was Gus' first vintage and one he is extremely proud of. 2021 is another vintage he is very much looking forward to; it was a fantastic drawn-out growing season with great fruit quality and yields.

The thing Gus loves most about being a wine maker is that the process is a mix of art and science. There are  so many variables in the process; you can test and  experiment with all of them. It’s a never-ending  journey of experimentation.
